Orlando is a city jam-packed with theme parks and activities to keep you entertained all day long. Orlando at Christmas is particularly magical as theme parks and attractions display their festive spirit. Orlando’s most iconic landmark is undoubtedly the turreted Cinderella Castle that stands in the centre of the original Disney theme park, the Magic Kingdom, at Lake Buena Vista. Universal Studios is a must-see attraction for movie lovers. Visitors are invited to go behind the scenes and become involved in the movie action, while the Islands of Adventure at Universal Studios offer thrilling rides, shows and attractions on five different islands.
A family holiday to Orlando at Christmas has more to offer than theme parks. The Kennedy Space Centre and Florida Everglades are within easy reach and make an ideal daytrip. Visit the US Astronaut Hall of Fame, tour the launch control centre or train like an astronaut on the simulators inside the Space Shuttle Atlantis at the Kennedy Space Centre, just an hour from Orlando. Everglades National Park with its sawgrass marshes and mangroves is home to hundreds of animal species. These include the endangered manatee, American crocodile and the Florida panther. Take a boat tour of this incredible World Heritage Site, it is highly recommended.
