NEW ENGLAND HOLIDAYS

Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine – states collectively known as New England – are some of the most beautiful in the USA, particularly in Autumn. Could you be a “leaf peeper”? That’s what they’re called, the thousands of people who come to see the natural phenomenon known as the fall colours. Photographs don’t do justice to the astonishing scarlet, gold, purple and orange hues that blaze across the undulating landscape.

For the uninitiated this is an unforgettable sight that never gets old. In summers, the climate is warm and sunny. Bright blue skies, green forests and colourful flowers. With the exception of Boston, New England towns are small, homely and easily explored on foot, tram or riverboat. From the shoreline cities of New Haven, Providence, and Portland to the smaller gems like Burlington, Rockport and Bar Harbor, you’ll find a wonderful mix of authentic historic places oozing with seaside charm, jaw dropping scenery and sumptuous seafood cuisine. Whether it’s a romantic getaway or a family road trip, New England has lots to offer –  leisurely trail walks, pick-your-own fruit farms, traditional artisan crafts. Best of all though have to be those amazing Autumnal colours.
