Planning a Trip to Disney World Orlando

Planning a Trip to Disney World Orlando

Planning a trip to Walt Disney World™ Orlando? Walt Disney World is the size of Greater Manchester and features six theme parks, shopping and recreation areas, golf courses, hotel resorts and sports arenas, so having a plan is vital. Our American Holidays travel experts have some great advice to share with you to help you to get the most from your Disney World holiday.

Planning a Trip to Disney World – Stay at a Disney Hotel

Our first and most important tip if you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World is to stay in a Disney Hotel. There are many advantages to this, starting with when you disembark at the airport. Your experience of the magic of Disney starts when you check in at the Disney Arrivals desk at the airport. You can then sit back and relax on the Magic Express, an air-conditioned coach that will take you from the airport, straight to your hotel.  Now, who wouldn’t appreciate that after a long-haul flight with kids!

When you stay at a Disney Hotel you get three fast passes per person per day included in your package. These allow you to the top of the queue on the most popular rides, so no waiting for long periods in the heat! We recommend that you create a Disney account online at MyDisneyExperience after you book your holiday. You can use the account to manage your fast passes and book the rides you want to use them on each day. You can also make restaurant reservations. We suggest you do this about a month before you leave. A little organisation goes a long way and it’s one of our top tips!

Staying at a Disney hotel means that you get a free MagicBand. You can use the MagicBand to access the parks, manage your reservations and your daily fast passes. They also double up as a room key and as your ticket on the Monorail. Disney hotel guests can also link a credit card to their MagicBands and use them to charge for purchases in the parks. That means no worrying about your wallet or keys as you enjoy the park. Kids’ MagicBand spending can be capped daily, or you can use adult only bands to link to your credit card.  Balances can be checked each evening so you can keep track of spending.

Planning a Trip to Disney World Orlando – Not staying at a Disney Hotel

Favourite Destination: Florida

I have to say that my favorite destination would have to be Florida. You are almost guaranteed sunshine and with so much to do and see in one state it’s a holiday the whole family will enjoy. You could spend your entire trip theme park hopping, or just enjoy some R&R on the countless Florida beaches. For nightlife head to the hotels of South Beach, you never know who you might run into!
