Visit the Grand Canyon, see it from above by helicopter if you can. A trip to the Grand Canyon is the perfect day trip and something everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. Red Rock Canyon, not far from Vegas, has plenty of adventure activities for outdoor lovers. The Lake Mead National Recreation Area is popular with water sports enthusiasts, as well as those just after a bit of sun and relaxation. The Hoover Dam, not far from Lake Mead, stretches 1,247 feet (380m) across the Colorado River and is well worth a visit.
