The States claim to have just under 20,000 cities within its borders. To see them all you’d have to go to one a day for 54 years without a day’s rest. We don’t offer that package. Rather, we’ve cherry-picked the cities that might give you pause and pleasure for however many days you choose. Stay the night, and city-hop, or stay the week, and set up shop.
Visit the city with the most lights in the world, surrounded by dark desert: Vegas, beauty in the extremes. Los Angeles, falling angels and rising stars, there’s always something in the home of Hollywood. There’s landlocked Memphis, where the sound of soul was born in the blues bars of Beale Street. Nashville, the rhinestone city is called the Athens of the south. New Orleans, America’s little France, you can get a café au lait and a beignet in Café Du Monde. Hit the streets in the grid city where there’s no stopping the sound of the New York City beat. Eat street food, or have a ‘brew and view’ a rerun in one of Portland’s cinemas. Take the San Fran challenge – swim the mile to Alcatraz. Why not the return mile too. Some stop the stress, some start the adrenaline, but all our cities breaks make memories.
