Top 5 New York Tours

New York City has so many things to see, places to visit and activities to enjoy. A tour is a great way to take in the highlights when on holiday to New York. Such a vast city inevitably has hundreds if not thousands of tours to choose from, so our experts have chosen the top 5 New York tours to get you started on your adventure!

New York City Hop on Hop Off Downtown Loop

There are several hop-on, hop-off routes available but we recommend starting with the Downtown Loop. The tour is based in downtown New York and includes many famous attractions. See the world-famous bright lights and billboards of Times Square, sit back and relax as you enjoy the open- top double-decker views of famous sights like the Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, One World Trade Centre, the Flatiron Building, Rockefeller Centre, Madison Square Garden, the Statue of Liberty and many more!
The on-board tour guides are very informative and will point out the key facts and provide interesting commentary as you journey through other well-known Manhattan neighbourhoods like Greenwich Village, SoHo, the Financial District, Chinatown Little Italy and the Lower East Side. Buses run from 8:00am to 6:00pm, every 25-30 minutes. The full Downtown Loop takes 3 hours.

Authentic Italian Greenwich Village Food Tour & Tastings

Be transported from New York City to an Italian Nonna’s kitchen on an authentic Italian Greenwich Village food tour. Foodies will love this tour, which departs from Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village and includes some of the most iconic Italian-American food establishments in the village. You will find your foodie guide is both passionate about food and knowledgeable about all the best local eateries. Tastings are included so we advise that you arrive hungry.

Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

The only way to visit Liberty Island (site of the Statue of Liberty) and Ellis Island is by taking a ferry from Battery Park.  Statue Cruises is the National Parks Service official ferry service provider to both Liberty Island and Ellis Island. One ferry ticket includes access to both islands, the ferry departs from Battery Park, stops at Liberty Island, then goes on to Ellis Island before returning to Battery Park. Visitors can easily travel between the two Islands as the ferry service is frequent and punctual.

The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island ferry can become very busy, with long queues.  To avoid a long wait, we recommend booking your ferry tickets in advance of the day of your visit.  When you book in advance for a specific ferry time you avoid the long lines and can board hassle-free via the express queue for your reserved ferry departure time.

Favourite Destination: Texas has to be one of my favourite places, take in vibrant cities, history, music and culture. Dallas has the Sixth Floor Museum and The Perot Museum of Nature and Science, great for the family. Make sure you take in the “dive bars” in Deep Ellum. Fort Worth, experience the Old West with the twice daily cattle drive in the Stockyards. Learn to line dance at Billy Bobs, the largest Honky Tonk, visit the Rodeo and enjoy a bottle of Buffalo Butt Beer. Austin, the live music capital of the world, take a sunset cruise on Lady Bird lake and see the world’s largest urban bat colony and then head over to 6th Street for some of that famous music.
