5 Unique Things to do in Seattle

Step out of your comfort zone, ignore the busy tourist attractions and get ready for an unforgettable time in the Emerald City!  To help you to do all of this, our travel expert Tracy has compiled her top 5 unique things to do in Seattle that will make your holiday unforgettable!

  1. Navigate The Underground City

In 1889, the Great Seattle Fire destroyed 31 blocks of the city. As a result, Seattle rebuilt itself in a completely new way! Streets were elevated one to two stories higher than they previously were. Thus, the city effectively rebuilt itself on top of the underground, leaving behind various passageways and rooms, which run underneath the streets of Seattle. Today, it has become one of the most interesting historical spots in the city! Want to explore the interconnecting tunnels of Seattle? There are a number of underground tours on offer which start from just $20 per person.

Unlike what you were told when you were younger, monsters really do exist! They live around the corner, in the shadows and even beneath city bridges. Under the Aurora Avenue Bridge, Seattle houses its very own monster! The Fremont Troll was built in 1990 and has become a unique sight to curious eyes. Visitors are able to climb around the sculpture, take pictures and appreciate it for all that it is.

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle in exchange for some peace and quiet, Kubota Gardens is where you need to be! Favourite Destination: Seattle

I love Seattle and the city’s mix of urban cool feeling along with cultural and historical charm. Are you a coffee lover like me? Seattle is known as a world centre for coffee roasting so be sure to take some time to sample some as you enjoy the relaxed laid back vibe of the city or catch some of the city’s famous music scene.
While there are many great looking buildings in the Seattle skyline, the centrepiece is without a doubt the iconic Space Needle. I definitely recommend paying a visit to the observation deck to get the best views of the city!
