Discover Las Vegas

Unpretentious and unapologetically over the top. Whatever you imagine Vegas to be, it is ten times that, with jaw dropping experiences and activities. From the four mile long Strip with its reconstructed Pyramids and skylines of New York and Paris to its lavish hotels and casinos and fabulous street shows, there’s nowhere quite like Vegas. The fact that it’s built in the middle of the Mojave Desert makes it all the more extraordinary for the over 35 million people who visit Vegas each year.

Location

Las Vegas is located in the Mojave Desert, in the state of Nevada. Known as the entertainment capital of the world, its famous lively strip is a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard lined with iconic hotels, casinos and resorts. The city is surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, including the Red Rock Canyon and the Hoover Dam and is a great point to visit the Grand Canyon or even Bryce or Zion National Parks in Utah.

While the strip is the main draw, downtown Las Vegas provides a more laid-back atmosphere, on Fremont Street experience and classic casinos like the Golden Nugget. The city’s compact layout makes it easy to get around, whether you’re here for the bright lights of the Strip or the nearby natural wonders.

Best Times To Travel

March – May

Spring is one of the best times to visit, with warm but not scorching temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C. It’s a great time of year to enjoy the outdoors from bars, clubs and restaurants to the canyons and nearby National Parks. At this time of year, crowds are moderate, but weekends and holidays can get busy.

June –  August

Summer in Vegas is hot, with temperatures often soaring above 40°C. While it’s the least crowded time (except for major holidays like July 4th), you’ll want to stay near the pools or indoors during the day. Nighttime is perfect for outdoor shows and rooftop bars.

September – November

Autumn is another ideal time to visit, with temperatures cooling to a comfortable 20°C to 30°C range. Crowds are lighter in September but pick up again in October and November for events like Halloween and Thanksgiving. It’s a great time for outdoor activities like hiking at Red Rock Canyon or Hoover Dam.

December to February

Winter is the coolest time in Vegas, with daytime temperatures around 10°C to 20°C. It’s a quieter season (except during New Year’s Eve and Super Bowl weekend), making it perfect for exploring without the crowds. Plus, you’ll find festive Christmas displays and events along the Strip.

Staff Tips

Sarah McCormick

Las Vegas - For all of the night owls, I recommend the Cosmopolitan. Great places to eat and The Marquee is the best day and night club.  The pool is amazing.  STK is a great start for the evening, a new style Las Vegas steakhouse from The One Group and Executive Chef Stephen Hopcraft.
