Best Times To Travel To Los Angeles

This is L.A.’s cool season, with mild daytime temperatures ranging from 15°C to 20°C and cooler evenings. It’s a quieter time to visit, perfect for avoiding crowds at major attractions like Universal Studios and The Getty. You might catch some rain, but clear days are still common. Don’t miss events like the Chinese New Year Festival in Chinatown and the Academy Awards buzz in Hollywood.

Spring brings warm, pleasant weather with temperatures rising to around 22–26°C. Tourist numbers begin to pick up, especially in late May and June, but it’s still manageable. These months are ideal for sightseeing, beach days in Santa Monica, and outdoor festivals. Highlights include the L.A. Times Festival of Books in April and Pride Month celebrations in June. It’s also a good time to explore the city’s hiking trails before summer heat sets in.

Expect classic California sunshine with hot, dry weather and temperatures often reaching 28 to 33°C. This is peak tourist season, so beaches and theme parks will be busy. That said, it’s the perfect time for summer festivals, rooftop cinema nights, and live outdoor concerts. Around the city, you’ll find a range of events where you can watch the fireworks and celebrate the Fourth of July.

Autumn and winter in L.A. see cooler weather, with highs between 18°C and 24°C, fewer crowds, and a relaxed feel. It’s a fantastic time for festive activities leading up to Christmas. You’ll also get clearer views from Griffith Observatory without the summer haze.
