Your first stop on this holiday to California and Hawaii is the stunning waterfront city of San Francisco, known for its steep hills and old style cable cars. Fisherman’s Wharf overlooks the bay and is a great place to start as you explore this laid-back city; there are numerous shops, restaurants and cafes in the area for you to explore. Get a cable car as far as Union Square, enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the world go by.
Hawaii is your next stop and it’s here that you will enjoy the pristine beaches and lush tropical landscapes of the Hawaiian Islands. Honolulu is the perfect base to explore the beautiful island of O’ahu, home to some of Hawaii’s most famous attractions. A hike to the top of the iconic Diamond Head State Monument for panoramic views of Waikiki and Honolulu is highly recommended.
Continue to Maui, the second largest of the Hawaiian islands. Maui was formed by the merging of lava flow from two different volcanoes and so is full of peaks and valleys to explore. Pay a visit to Haleakala National Park, home to the Haleakala crater and the best place on the island to take in the breath taking Hawaiian sunrise. Take a scenic drive along the road to Hana, a stunning coastal route that brings you to Honokalani Beach to stroll along the black volcanic sand or take a dip in the refreshing waters.
The final stop on this multi-centre holiday to America is Los Angeles, a city known for its year-round beautiful weather, beaches and of course Hollywood! Disneyland and Universal Studios are incredible theme parks and will thrill both the young and the young at heart. Stroll along Hollywood Boulevard and see the stars on the Walk of Fame. Malibu and Santa Monica beaches are a great place to soak up some sun and the Getty Observatory, with its exhibitions, paintings and incredible gardens is well worth a visit.
