Universal Volcano Bay water theme park

Universal Volcano Bay in Orlando is a water park like no other, where every moment is inspired by the belief that ‘water is life, and life is joy’. Shoot down slides, brave water torrents, drift through a winding river, or relax in your own waterside cabana. Open since May 2017, Universal Volcano Bay in Orlando is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. In this blog, our travel expert Ali tells you what you can expect during your visit.

The Volcano

The unmissable Krakatau Volcano stands as the centrepiece of the park. Towering at 200 feet tall, it streams waterfalls during the day and flaming lava effects at night. Inside the cavernous volcano, you can test your courage on pulse-pounding slides that take your breath away. Test out the Krakatau Aqua coaster for something different or brave the Ko’okiri body plunge, a near-vertical speed slide with a trap-door start.

Wave Village

Wave Village is the first of three villages that guests stumble upon at Universal Volcano Bay in Orlando. This tranquil escape overlooks the sparkling waters of Waturi Beach and The Reef, at the base of the volcano. Experience ultimate relaxation with one of the two-story cabanas available for guests to rent. Cool off and take a dip in one of the pools which feature gentle, relaxing waves.

River Village

The second of three villages in Universal Volcano Bay is the River Village. This lively village has fun for people of all ages, including the very youngest visitors. Let the little ones play in the Tot Tiki Reef area or glide through the Kopiko Wai winding river that passes through Krakatau. The decorated caves and random special effects that run along the lazy river will put smiles on everyone’s faces.

Watch out for water spurts in Tot Tiki Reef, light up images within the volcano and fire water cannons at guests on the Kopiko Wai winding river. Every step you take will bring about all sorts of new experiences!

**Universal Volcano Bay will begin a seasonal closure on 26 October 2026, with a current planned reopening on or before 24 March 2027.
