New York & Boston

3 NIGHTS New York • 3 NIGHTS Boston

Visit two of America’s most famous cities on this incredible holiday to East Coast USA. You’ll start in New York and experience the city that never sleeps before heading to Boston. This historic university city beats with a youthful heart and is surely one of the friendliest cities in America. One of the great things about Boston is how compact it is, it’s the perfect place if you like to do your exploring on foot!

Many of New York’s most famous visitor attractions are very familiar to us but nothing compares to seeing them first hand. Take the Staten Island Ferry and sail past Liberty Island. Seeing the Statue of Liberty up close is a very different experience to seeing it on TV. Stroll through the cobbled streets of the West Village, where the NYC street grid is suspended and bohemian culture, art, music and funky restaurants thrive. New York has so much to offer, there is always something to see or do. Enjoy as much as you can before it’s time to head to Boston. You can fly or take the train and take in views of the New England coastline.

Boston is the perfect city to explore on foot, dotted with hip and trendy neighbourhoods, modern sky scrapers and historic monuments all within easy walking distance of one another. Explore Boston Common which holds the distinction of being the oldest park in America, unsurprising as Boston is a city steeped in history. One great way to explore Boston is to follow the Freedom Trail. Starting at Boston Common the 2.5-mile (4km) trail links 16 historic sights associated with the early struggle for freedom from British control and the events leading up to the American revolution.

Just across the Charles River from Boston is Cambridge. Many people don’t realise that Cambridge is a city in its own right. Cambridge is home to two of the most prestigious third level institutions in the world, Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT. Thanks to its large student population Cambridge has a young and vibrant atmosphere. Have a coffee on Harvard Square in the heart of Cambridge and take it all in.

Boston - Wander down to Beacon Hill and stop at Isabelle’s Curly Cakes on Charles Street. It sells delicious home-made cupcakes. (I would particularly recommend the Boston Cream.)
