Livorno is an Italian port city on the west coast of Tuscany. It's known for its seafood, Renaissance-era fortifications and modern harbor with a cruise ship port. Its central Terrazza Mascagni, a waterside promenade with checkerboard paving, is the city's main gathering place. The bastions of the 16th-century Fortezza Vecchia face the harbor and open onto Livorno's canal-laced Venezia Nuova quarter.

Journey to breathtaking Rome from the historic port of Civitavecchia. Savor the flavor of the "New City" at the birthplace of pizza. Hike to the summit of the Mt. Vesuvius volcano or tour its bygone devastation at the ruins in Pompeii. Escape to the island paradise of Capri and spend the afternoon shopping and dining before exploring the La Piazzetta or touring the gardens of Villa San Michele. Drive along the stunning Amalfi Coast with its spectacular sea views and rocky cliffs before resting in Sorrento for some sun and sand overlooking the Naples Bay.

Palermo is the capital of the Italian island of Sicily. The 12th-century Palermo Cathedral houses royal tombs, while the huge neoclassical Teatro Massimo is known for opera performances. Busy markets include the central Ballarò street market and the Vucciria, near the port.
