Visiting Universal Studios Hollywood during winter is a real treat! There are less crowds and new experiences to enjoy! Visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and witness snowfall at Hogwarts while you enjoy some hot Butterbeer, or head for Grinchmas where you can have your photo taken with the Grinch. Wander through Universal Studios Hollywood and admire the stunning winter décor and beautiful light displays. Visiting this attraction in wintertime should be high on your to-do list when visiting Los Angeles!
Chill at the Queen Mary
This famous winter attraction has become a staple at Long Beach since it was first opened in 2012. Set up outdoors next door to the Queen Mary ship, this winter wonderland features zip lines, bumper boats, ice skating, a Rudolph 4D Experience, ice tubing, and of course, the main man himself, Santa Claus. Our top tip? Purchase a Grand Expedition Ticket which will also allow you on-board the Queen Mary for a tour!
Go on hike
If you enjoy hiking, then you will love hiking during winter in Los Angeles. Winter in LA brings some rain showers, which result in clear skies and unbelievable views. If you are an experienced hiker then you will love the ‘Wonder View Trail’ in the Hollywood Hills. Want something easier? Head for ‘Crags Road Trail’ in Calabasas. Make sure you a prepared for the weather when heading off on your hike by packing a few extra layers, some snacks and water.
Rooftop Bars for Winter Cocktails
Los Angeles has some of the coolest rooftop bars in California, offering amazing views of the city. Yes, wintertime is a bit chillier, but sitting on a rooftop bar, wrapped in a blanket and drinking a delicious winter cocktail is the recipe for a magical Los Angeles evening. Head for the Broken Shaker above the Freehand Hotel or Catch LA on Melrose Avenue for stunning views, amazing cocktails and delicious food.
LA Zoo Nights
This not-to-be-missed winter experience runs from mid-November until mid-January and is one of the best winter sites in Los Angeles. Large glowing animals will greet you as you enter LA Zoo and begin your journey through one of the most magical light displays you have ever seen. LA Zoo Nights is perfect for families, groups and couples! This self-guided tour takes between 60-90 minutes and features animal-themed displays, seasonal magic and dynamic lights and projections.
