What to Expect

You will love Sarasota with its thriving theatre and arts district. There are a number of islands with great beaches almost parallel to the coast, including Anna Maria Island off of Bradenton.

Amenity Highlights

Amenity Highlights

When you stay in private homes it is not like a resort. Most of the private rental homes will be in the residential areas of Sarasota and Bradenton and a short distance from restaurants, bars and other amenities. If shopping is what floats your boat then some of the best is at Saint Armands Circle on Lido Key. You’ll find book and clothes shops in between cafes and ice cream parlours in this part of town.

Property/Local Amenities

When you stay in a private home you should hire a car, as you could be some way from the amenities offered by Sarasota and Bradenton. Don’t expect to be near the beach when you are staying in a residential area, it is probably a walk or a short drive away from where you are staying.

Rooms

Rooms

Private homes will vary but most of them will have the usual amenities including a television and a telephone. You should check carefully to make sure that you have the right number of bed and bathrooms. Pools may or may not be heated when you rent a private home. If you rent a condo then there will likely be a shared pool and perhaps other shared facilities. Most condos will have a balcony of some sort.

Dining

Dining

Accommodation is self-catering and when you stay in a residential area it usually means that you are few minutes away from the nearest shops and restaurants. There are plenty of trendy restaurants in Sarasota and some artistic cafes close on Herald Square and the Southside district.

Recreation

Recreation

There is plenty to see and do in and around the main areas of Sarasota and Bradenton. Don’t forget to visit the arts district and when you go to Sarasota, a theatre visit is a must. You will also love the antique shops in downtown Sarasota. The theatre and arts district is fun and covers experimental art to conventional opera. Many of the art galleries are along Palm Avenue and Main Street and there are plenty of artistic hangouts as well as cafes convenient to the galleries. Across at Longboat key there are plenty of golf courses, tennis courts and some restaurants with a great reputation for good food.
