What to Expect


Visitors are often wowed upon walking into the Fairmont Palliser.
The lobby is decorated based in Edwardian style architecture with its marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and gold-gilded ceilings, and it is truly stunning.
Just off from the lobby is the Rimrock restaurant, which is also decorated with a period feel.
A heraldic heritage fireplace and barrelled ceilings set the atmosphere for a romantic meal with a loved one, whilst the impressive 38-foot mural by Banff artist, Charles Beil provides another beauty on which to feast your eyes.
After eating, guests can retire in the lounge and partake in a drink or two to relax and discuss their day.
The impressive glass rotunda of the Canadian Pacific Railways Pavilion is found on the Boulevard level and is gives the appearance of an early twentieth century European railway station, complete with vintage 1920 rail cars.

Amenity Highlights


The Fairmont Palliser offers their guests a truly scrumptious meal in the Rimrock restaurant.
Death by Chocolate is hosted here every Tuesday and Thursday, perfect for those with a sweet tooth.
There are excellent leisure facilities on site including the Boulevard club with its heated indoor swimming, hot spa tub and eucalyptus steam room.
For those guests wishing to work out there is also weight training equipment available and aerobics.
To relax the Senses Salon and Spa offer a range of luxurious treatments for hair and body.
Guests can also choose to have a massage in their room if they so wish.

Property/ Local Amenities:
Originally the Fairmont Palliser was located ten blocks east of the town centre of Calgary.
However once the hotel was built in 1914 the beauty of the building and the services it offered resulted in the centre of town migrating to around the Palliser.
The historic Stephen Avenue Walk is where a number of these original stores and shops were established.
The buildings, which arose around the Palliser were built in similar sandstone in order to maintain the atmosphere and beauty of the area.
Stephen Avenue Walk is now the vibrant heart of downtown Calgary, with 350 shops and 35 restaurants, pubs and bars.
For evening entertainment the theatre district is located at the east end of the walk.
There are also a number of nightclubs playing a variety of local and international music within a short walk of the hotel.
Live music can often be heard wafting out of late night venues over the weekend with the music ranging from anything to country, dance and jazz.

Rooms


The hotel is home to 405 guestrooms, which are all tastefully decorated in warm rich colours.
There are high ceilings and beautiful large windows that let in plenty of natural light.
Each room is decorated with ornate mouldings and detailing and have comfortable beds with down duvets.
Guests will find a telephone and internet access ports in each room along with cable TV, a mini-bar and coffeemakers.
Robes are provided in the bathrooms along with soft towels.
For guests with small babies, complimentary cribs are available on request.

Dining


The Fairmont Palliser offers guests two unique dining experiences.
The Rimrock restaurant just off the elegant lobby has a menu of classic regional cuisine.
The beautiful décor, lavish food and themed buffet lunches, are always a hit with guests and reservations are recommended to avoid disappointment.
The Oak Room provides lighter lunches and snack food and is decorated with leather wingback chairs and vaulted
It is also a fantastic place to begin or end an evening by sampling one or two of the premium cocktails on offer.
On Sundays the grand lobby is dressed to serve a lavish Sunday brunch. The menu consists of traditional brunch fare, including fresh seafood, a selection of meats and scrumptious deserts.
Reservations are a must.
