Oklahoma, Kansas & Missouri
2 NIGHTS Tulsa • 2 NIGHTS Oklahoma City • 1 NIGHT Wichita • 2 NIGHTS Kansas City
Discover pure ‘Americana’ landscapes, towns and cities on this exciting 7 night self drive holiday. Spend time in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Wichita and Kansas City as you journey along the original ‘Mother Road’.
You’ll begin your holiday in Tulsa, Oklahoma’s second biggest city where old style Southern Hospitality meets a cosmopolitan urban city. Utica Square is a shoppers delight while Gilcrease Museum and Philbrook Museum of Art bring you back in time with their fantastic exhibits.
Jump in the car and onto Route 66 and onto Oklahoma City for two nights. Pay a visit to the Oklahoma National Stockyards, where you can attend a live cattle auction every Monday or simply wander around Stockyard City and browse stores offering a selection of boots, belts, buckles, hats and other accessories. The store and restaurant owners have worked hard to maintain authenticity so you won’t find tourist tack around here, rather get a real American experience and as they say you’ll ‘leave knowing what a real steak tastes like, and that real boots don’t come from Bloomingdale’s’. A visit to Bricktown is also highly recommended. A former warehouse district, it’s now home to some of the city’s best bars, restaurants and shops.
Next up is Kansas and the first stop here is Wichita, home to Sedgwick County Zoo which is well worth a visit as is the Keeper of the Plains Plaza a 44ft tall sculpture marking the point where the Big and Little Arkansas rivers join together in downtown Wichita. After one night here you’ll finish your holiday in Kansas City, where the National WW1 Museum and Memorial, Harry S. Truman Museum and The Legends Outlets are all well worth a visit.
