In less than five hours you will be in Newfoundland, Canada’s the most easterly province. Stay for two nights at the Murray Premises Hotel in the Provincial capital of St. John’s which is simply a delight. Looking out over the city of St John’s, you may be reminded of a mini San Francisco. St. John’s, provides the ideal balance between nature and nightlife, from the East Coast Trail and it’s stunning scenery to the colourful entertainment district along George Street.
After your St. John’s visit we transport you by helicopter to the Fogo Island Inn on Fogo Island. Tranquil and remote, Fogo Island is a collection of eleven communities where life is focused on fishing, boat-building and has not changed much since established by Irish immigrants in the 18th century. Classified as one of the four corners of the earth, the only way to explore this island is by foot walking along ancient footpaths steeped in history, hike jagged cliffs, and follow animal tracks into an untamed wilderness. When you have done enough exploring, retreat to Fogo Island Inn where the only sights and sounds you will see and hear are the waves.
Why not explore Canada at your own pace? Our self-drive itineraries are designed to give you the security of knowing that your daily accommodation is secured, with the flexibility of travelling at your leisure. Do you prefer hiking and sightseeing along the way? Or is the allure of the open road more your style? The choice is yours! Whatever you choose we will help you plan your ideal itinerary.
