Montreal, Quebec Stay with Canada & New England Cruise

4 NIGHTS Montreal • 3 NIGHTS Quebec City 7 NIGHT Cruise

Explore Eastern Canada on land with stays in Montreal and Quebec City before boarding Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Gem for a 7 night cruise along the Canada and New England coast line.

Begin your holiday to Canada with a four night stay in Montreal. A cosmopolitan city with a distinctly European feel, Montreal is an incredible mixture of old and new. The perfect city to explore by foot or by bike, start your sightseeing in the charming old city where City Hall, The Notre-Dame Basillica, Chateau Ramezay and Nelson’s Column are all worth a visit. The Old Port of Montreal along the shoreline of the St Lawrence river, a popular hangout spot in warmer weather, always lively with music and performances. Your holiday package also includes a sightseeing tour of Montreal.

From here continue to Quebec City. The crown jewel of French Canada, Québec City is one of North America’s oldest and most magnificent settlements. Its picturesque Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, a living museum of narrow cobblestone streets, 17th and 18th-century houses and soaring church spires, with the splendid Château Frontenac towering above it all.

You will then board Norwegian Gem for a 7 night cruise. Weave your way down the East Coast with stops in Charlottetown, Sydney Canada, Halifax Nova Scotia and St Johns before the cruise ends in Boston. While on-board the Norwegian Gem there’ll be plenty to keep you occupied from sun-up to sun-down. From sports courts and pools, spas and salons, there’s something for everyone. When it comes to food, find beautifully crafted menus either of the two main dining rooms, a help-yourself buffet and a variety of casual cafés, grills and on-the-go choices. From fresh-baked breads, desserts and pastries to the ships chefs’ original dishes made with the freshest ingredients, your dining can be as fine or fun as you want.

Day 8 Cruise departs from Quebec City

Sailing along the St. Lawrence River into Quebec City, you may just wonder whether you’re in North America or Europe, for this delightful city has an unmistakably French style and joie de vivre. Take a stroll around the historic Upper Town with its narrow streets and cobbled squares, stop for coffee and croissants and take in the stunning view over the city and river.

    Day 10 Charlottetown

Slip down a gear as you explore Charlottetown with its tree-lined colonial and Victorian streets of shops and cafés, and its quiet, country atmosphere. Or get out and explore P.E.I., as it’s known round here – the rolling green landscapes, sand dunes and red sandstone cliffs. And be sure to stop for a lobster lunch as the island’s famous for its seafood.

    Day 11 Sydney, Canada

Sydney stands on Cape Breton Island, a place of natural, rugged beauty, which has echoes of the Scottish Highlands that gave the province its name. The tree-lined streets of the Old Town are dotted with buildings from the 18th and 19th-centuries, while inland the landscape of mountains, valleys, lakes and rivers are just waiting to be explored.

    Day 12 Halifax, Nova Scotia

Halifax was founded in 1749 and there’s history and heritage around every corner. Check out the city sights in a horse-drawn carriage or on the top deck of a British bus; immerse yourself in maritime history, including the city’s Titanic connection; or head out to scenic Peggy’s Cove with its lighthouse and brightly painted houses for a wonderful lobster lunch.

    Day 13 Saint John

Although Champlain landed here in 1604 and named the town, it wasn't settled until 1783 by Loyalists fleeing the colonies during the American Revolution. Canada's Maritime Province of New Brunswick is intriguing, with its tidy farms, stately Georgian manors and tea at four. The topography is equally interesting: In a land of vast virgin forests and rushing rivers, fierce tides as high as 53 feet are fueled by the fingerlike Bay of Fundy

    Day 15 Boston

One of the great things about Boston is that it’s so walkable. So whether you’re into history and want to stroll the Freedom Trail past some of the city’s most notable sights, shopping, art galleries or visiting the fantastic New England Aquarium, it’s all just moments away. Why not come aboard the replica Boston Tea Party ship, or for something stronger that famous TV bar, Cheers!
