13 Night Boston to Montreal Cruise & Stay

3 NIGHTS Boston • 7 NIGHT Cruise • 3 NIGHTS Montreal

This holiday is the perfect combination of a city breaks and a relaxing cruise holiday. Start in Boston, one of America’s oldest cities, steeped in history yet lively and youthful thanks to a vibrant student population. Boston is a compact city, an eclectic mix of historic monuments and modern skyscrapers interspersed with bohemian neighbourhoods. Boston is the perfect city to explore on foot with most of the major attractions within easy walking distance of one another.

Grandly proportioned and recently enhanced, MS Veendam offers an on board experience defined by spacious comfort and the latest amenities. Choose from an array of on board activities that allow you to pursue new interests or relax and rejuvenate. The Greenhouse Spa & Salon offers spa treatments, a thermal pool and lounge and a variety of salon services. The fully equipped Fitness Centre includes state-of-the-art cardio and weight machines, as well as classes in Yoga, Pilates, indoor cycling and more.

Montreal’s juxtaposition of French and British influences gives rise to an exuberant creativity, reflected in the festive fizz of endless cultural goings-on. Place Jacques-Cartier, next to City Hall, and Place d’Armes, which faces the Notre-Dame Basilica—a place of worship renowned for its breathtaking interiors—are absolute must-see spots in Old Montréal. The Botanical Garden, second-largest in the world, provides a lush green setting for the Insectarium. Mid-river, Parc Jean-Drapeau, home to the popular amusement park La Ronde and the Casino, attracts visitors looking for good times.

Farther afield: Lexington Green, where the minutemen and redcoats first skirmished, and bewitching Salem. For ocean scenery at its best, nothing rivals Nova Scotia's south shore. Here find craggy coastlines, fabled Peggy's Cove, and the striking German village of Lunenburg, so meticulously restored it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Back in Halifax the ramparts of the Citadel and a museum commemorating the Titanic await your inspection.

A hundred thousand Gaelic welcomes await you in Nova Scotia, Latin for "New Scotland." There are highland villages to visit, the scenic Cabot Trail to explore, golden inland seas to sail and the Fortress of Louisbourg to inspect - where every barn, barracks and pipe and drum corps appears just as it did when King Louis' troops occupied the site in 1744. Sample shore excursions: The Bras d'Or Lakes Grand Tour; Fortress of Louisbourg; Black Gold - Cape Breton Mine Experience.

PEI may be Canada s smallest province, but it's big on history and attractions. It is here that the famous Conference of 1864 was held, which resulted in the creation of the Canadian confederacy. Learn all about it on a walking tour of Charlottetown, the provincial capital. Or cast your vote for shopping, a lobster luncheon at Dalvay-by-the-Sea or a tour of the picturesque farm that inspired Anne of Green Gables.

A tree-lined "Champs-Elysées," buttery croissants, the lilt of French, a grand château on the river. Is this Canada, or is it France? It is both - a bastion of French culture in North America where impassioned Québécois hold dear their history, language and culture. Nearby: Montmorency Falls, higher than Niagara. Sample shore excursions: Québec City Walking Tour with Tea at the Château Frontenac; St. Lawrence Grand Tour & Lunch.
