Day 3
Amber Cove, Dominican Republic

Arrival: at 10:30
Departure: at 18:30

Discovering new sights is one of the beauties of travel, and that couldn't be more true when it comes to Amber Cove, Dominican Republic. In this world full of information on just about everything, Amber Cove is a throwback — it’s the kind of quiet little spot you won’t find on most maps. But you will find it — brimming with bars and pools, plus opportunities for lounging and shopping — to be the gateway to island paradise, Dominican-style. Beyond Amber Cove is Puerto Plata, a town that began life as the first European settlement in the Americas. Its founder? Oh, just a guy named Christopher Columbus… so you know that arriving by sea is the ultimate way to get here. Whether you're looking for a day at the beach, some Dominican Republic adventure or just a little poolside me-time, Amber Cove is just the ticket.

Day 4
San Juan, Puerto Rico

Arrival: at 11:00
Departure: at 19:00

Cruises from San Juan, Puerto Rico offer a magical blend of natural island charm and man-made wonders. Historic San Juan, once nothing more than cobblestone streets and the distinctive architecture of the Spanish who founded it, is now a modern world capital. And, as you’ll see on Carnival’s cruises from Puerto Rico, it’s kept these classical features! Among the peaceful shaded courtyards and commanding colonial fortresses of El Morro and San Cristobal, urban explorers will find a cosmopolitan city of wide boulevards, lively cafés, highly-regarded galleries and designer boutiques… not to mention gold-sand beaches and nearby rainforest jungles. San Juan, Puerto Rico is where the old world meets the new — and you can enjoy them both when you choose one of our cruises from San Juan.

Day 5
St Thomas

Arrival: at 07:00
Departure: at 16:00

Not all of St. Thomas' treasures are buried. Most of them are right in the open on this gorgeous island, home of the infamous Bluebeard's Tower. Whether looking for jewels, crystal, perfume and fine wines in the shops of Charlotte Amalie, or soaking up the sun on the incredible beaches, you'll marvel at the wealth of history on this treasure-filled paradise.

Carnival Vista

We've built a lot of ships over the years, but for a truly unique experience at sea, you've gotta see Carnival Vista. Carnival Vista has a whole new relationship to the sea, and you get to experience this as you explore the Caribbean with all-new views. It's only natural that you'll want to start outdoors, so let's. You can't help but have your eye caught by — wait, are those flying bicycles? Pretty much! SkyRide at SportSquare is a twin-track suspended bike course — strap in and race around for the win or just cruise for great views. At Havana Bar & Pool you'll find an island retreat that evokes classic Cuban-style lounging with an emphasis on style... and on views, and on traditional cocktails! Carnival WaterWorks is packed to the gills with wet ways to get-a-splashin', including Kaleid-O-Slide which adds funky light and color effects to the usual 'speed-n-splash' story. If you can't get enough Guy Fieri, we invite you to try at Guy's Burger Joint and Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse. Rounding out this ship's sunlight highlights is Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, the low-key grown-up spot that's more lounging and hot tubs than action and adventure. (But Serenity's complimentary chopped salad station gets our inner grown-up excited!) Indoors, things are every bit as cool. Take RedFrog Pub & Brewery for example — yes, you read right, the latest incarnation of our Caribbean-cool pub has a fully-functional onboard brewery that produces exclusive craft beers you can enjoy just feet from the brewing kettle. If you do seafood, you'll want to direct your appetite to Bonsai Sushi or the seaside Seafood Shack, while JiJi Asian Kitchen and Cucina del Capitano are prepared to satisfy cuisine-specific cravings. Of course Carnival Vista features a Dr. Seuss Bookville and youth activities for all kinds of kids (the smallers, the tallers and the in-betweens). On the stateroom side, Carnival Vista adds two new types of rooms to the mix: Family Harbor is a special area reserved for families and features a private lounge. All Havana staterooms and suites are located just off the Havana Bar & Pool and feature a unique tropical décor, while Havana Cabanas add a patio with hammock chair! One last thing you should know: on Carnival Vista more onboard places than ever before span the indoors and outdoors — so whether you set the thermostat to 'cool-and-crisp' or 'sea-breezy perfection' you'll enjoy your kind of Caribbean comfort on Carnival Vista.

Staff Tips

  • Astrid Bell

Explore the ship, plan your nights and learn where the restaurants are. It still amazes me how huge cruise ships are. It’s crazy! I think it’s a great idea to take a tour of the ship or go out exploring on your own, to learn where everything is.

  • Amanda O'Brien

For the first day of your cruise, pack a small carry-on bag with your travel documents, a change of clothes, swimsuit, exercise clothes and any medications you may need. That way you don't have to wait for your checked bags to arrive in your stateroom.

    Amanda O'BrienPersonal Travel Planner
  • Kristin Skinner

Get to know the staff early in the cruise. They can give you some wonderful inside information regarding the ports of call, excursions, activities, and so on.

It’s always worth having a small amount of local currency for immediate expenses on arrival at your destination and for any purchases you make at your ports of call. We also recommend you carry a major credit or charge card (American Express®, MasterCard® or Visa®), or sufficient funds in U.S.$ travellers cheques which can be cashed on board.

There will be a laundry service on board all ships; the service is not “self service” and prices vary by garment type
