Discovering new sights is one of the beauties of travel, and that couldn't be more true when it comes to Amber Cove, Dominican Republic. But you will find it — brimming with bars and pools, plus opportunities for lounging and shopping — to be the gateway to island paradise, Dominican-style. Beyond Amber Cove is Puerto Plata, a town that began life as the first European settlement in the Americas. Its founder? Oh, just a guy named Christopher Columbus… so you know that arriving by sea is the ultimate way to get here. Whether you're looking for a day at the beach, some Dominican Republic adventure or just a little poolside me-time, Amber Cove is just the ticket.

Carnival Celebration

When we talk about our new ship, Carnival Celebration, both words matter. Carnival suggests an amazing vacation every time, and Celebration… wow, there’s just so much there to smile about! First off is a nod back to the original MS Celebration, a true cruising classic. But there’s also all those amazing times to come! When the new ship sets sail from Miami in 2022, we’ll be marking Carnival’s 50th birthday year (born in ’72, baby) as a tribute to all the fun we’ve shared at sea. And that’s just the kick-off — you’re also pre-invited to so many years of fun on Carnival Celebration! We’re counting on guests like you to bring that unique spirit, but you can bet this ship’s gonna have the features to match your vacation expectations. Just like sister ship Mardi Gras, we’re building six “zones” into Carnival Celebration — themed areas that bring together incredible experiences and flavor. And as the second ship ever with BOLT— that’s our onboard rollercoaster — we’ll make sure it’s every bit as speedy and thrilling as the original. Carnival Celebration also marks the return of innovations like Bonsai Teppanyaki, RedFrog Tiki Bar, Family Feud Live, Havana Bar, Seuss at Sea, Playlist Productions and more. That right there ought to be enough fun for anybody, but there’s also so much more new stuff we’ll be revealing as construction happens.

Staff Tips

Most lines allow you to pre-book shore excursions on their websites months before your cruise; doing this saves time waiting in line once on board and it also gives you first dibs on tours that may get sold out later.

Planning for a special occasion on board? You may purchase wine, or bon voyage gifts, such as fruit baskets, champagne, birthday cakes, canapés, flowers or other gifts for your stateroom.

Remember to pack your adaptor! Onboard voltage is 110/220 ac (This would be the average on most ships).

The most popular tours sometimes sell out and spas can be very busy during sea days, so your first stop should be the Shore Excursion Desk to book tours and the Spa to make appointments.

Unless things get particularly dicey, shore excursions will run rain or shine. Pack a rain jacket!
