The shopping mall culture is taken very seriously in the USA. The centres are more than just a place to shop – many have their very own social scene. It is never a good idea to shop on an empty stomach! Luckily The Grove has a long list of cafés, diners and restaurants.

Not a morning person? Bob’s Coffee and Doughnuts is a great place to grab your morning coffee.

It is renowned for its urn-brewed coffee and incredible apple fritters. From the burgers to sushi and Mexican to Italian, your dining choices are endless.

Swing by La Piazza and enjoy some tasty homemade Italian food as you listen to the sweet sound of their resident pianist!

Along with shops and eateries, The Grove also boasts a multi-screen Art Deco-influenced theatre which shows the latest blockbuster films.

This theatre has brought the old-style glamour and magic back to movies. Staffed by ushers wearing classic pillbox hats, the theatre boasts exceptional customer service. Sit back and enjoy the show in comfortable and spacious seating while you munch on a warm box of buttery popcorn.

Favourite Destination: Los Angeles

My favourite USA destination has to be the West Coast. From theme park thrills and celebrity spotting in Los Angeles to walking the streets of San Francisco there’s so much to see and do. Cycle from Venice Beach to Malibu, shop on Rodeo Drive, enjoy the wine tasting rooms in the Funk Zone of Santa Barbara, be blown away be endless sea views on the Pacific Coast Highway. Choose to stop off in the small coastal towns of Pismo Beach and San Simeon, come inland for some antique shopping in Cambria or look for the hidden gem that is the Dutch town of Solvang. Catch a boat to Alcatraz, walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, have lunch in Sausalito or take in the sights on a hop on hop off bus tour! The West Coast won’t disappoint!
