Nowhere is Louisiana's wildlife more abundant than in the swamps and bayous of New Orleans. After crossing the Mississippi River, take a boat ride through these swamps and bayous and be on the lookout for alligators, raccoons, snakes, turtles, and native birds. Hear stories from your guide about local Cajun culture and the mysteries of the swamps and bayous.

After a short coach ride across the Mississippi River, embark on a fascinating 2-hour boat trip through the swamps and bayous of New Orleans. Watch the beauty of Southern Louisiana unfold as you travel through the bayous and swamps in a custom built, all-weather boat.

Your guide will reveal the mysteries of this iconic Louisiana terrain as you observe the nesting grounds of native wildlife. Discover how the seafood from the bountiful waters provides a wide assortment of delectable local dishes. Observe the nesting grounds of alligators, egrets, raccoons, nutria, and many species of snakes. Some wildlife are more numerous during the warmer months of the year.

Along the way, learn all about Cajun culture and ingenuity — hear how Cajun people turned soup into gumbo, a famous Louisiana dish; the washboard into a musical instrument; and, of course, the swamps into a natural paradise. Your guide will also explain how these lush, untamed swamps and bayous are slowly disappearing. Learn about the efforts made to preserve and restore Louisiana's vanishing wetlands for future generations to enjoy. You'll return from the bayous for a coach ride to the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Great trip! Very little wild life, wrong time of the year, but enjoyed the bayou.

Held Fluffy the baby gator, fed marshmallows to the swamp gators, saw some turtles and interesting birds. A lovely boat ride with lovely views.

The tour operator was very courteous and allowed us to switch to a day later due to a sick child. We were also happy that the boat sails very smoothly, which helps with the situation. We saw a young gator, various birds, a racoon ravaging a bird nest, and got to hold a baby gator too, and of course the last part is the coolest and something special for the kids. The scenery was nice too. Overall we liked the trip and are very happy with their service.

Fun experience. We found out though that alligators hibernate and are not visible in the winter. We saw 2 baby alligators and several birds.

This was an amazingly fun trip! The guide was a real charmer! He knows his business and aims to please. Late October is near the end of the season for seeing gators -- but we managed to see a few -- lots of fun, good photo opportunities. Definitely worth the trip!

Amazing guide and a great day. I and #39;ve done this and the airboat, preferred this could actually hear the guide. Fed the alligators over the side of the boat, held the guides rescued one and was just brilliant

This tour was awesome! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained the history of the swamp, pointed out different animals and plants, and of course we say A LOT of alligators, we even got to hold a baby one. We took some beautiful pictures and had a great time. We've been recommending to friends since we left!
