What is included in the Price?
All hotels on route are included in the price. The car rental price is not included as you can selected the type of car you wish to use at the time of booking. Flights are also not included as they vary from week to week.
Day 1 > Phoenix/Scottsdale Arrival
Arrive at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Pick up your rental car and proceed to your hotel.

Day 2 > Phoenix / Scottsdale–Tucson
This morning at 08:00 hours you will be met by your AmericanTours representative and provided with a welcome kit including driving instructions, vouchers, maps and brochures of the places you are about to visit. You will have the day to explore the “Valley of the Sun.“ Then continue to Tucson. A visit to Old Tucson is optional.

Day 3 > Tucson–Tombstone–Ghost Towns–Las Cruces
Begin your day with a visit to Tombstone, site of the famous "Gunfight at the OK Corral" between the Earp Brothers, Doc Holiday and the Clantons. Then continue by some of the best-preserved ghost-towns to Las Cruces. Your hotel is in Old Mesilla.

Day 4 > Las Cruces–White Sands–Socorro – Albuquerque – Santa Fe
See the brilliant white dunes of White Sands National Monument before driving by Socorro to Albuquerque where you can visit Old Town before arriving in Santa Fe, the end of the famous Santa Fe Trail.

Day 5 > Santa Fe–Taos Indian Pueblo–Durango
Stroll the historic Plaza before leaving for the artists' colony of Taos. Visit Taos Indian Pueblo, one of the country's oldest continuously inhabited settlements and still home to more than a thousand Indians. Then cross the Sangre de Cristo Mountains into Colorado and arrive in the cowboy town of Durango.

A day at leisure or take an optional cliff-hanging narrow gauge railroad ride through 44 miles of precipitous scenery along the river to the old silver mining town of Silverton.

Visit the mysterious Indian cliff dwellings in Mesa Verde National Park. Then pass by Four Corners to Monument Valley, the universal image of the American West: fantastical shapes of buttes, mesas and spires, rising from a desert land - the Navajo Indian Reservation.

Today continue to Lake Powell where the desert meets the deep blue lake.

Beyond Kanab, once an old trading post, you will ascend the Paunsagunt Plateau to see the fanciful spires, pink cliffs, natural arches, and rock formations found in Bryce Canyon.

Follow the Virgin River along the base of the massive canyon it created in Zion National Park. Continue your drive to Las Vegas, the famous desert Entertainment Capital of the World.

Day 12 > Las Vegas–Grand Canyon National Park
This morning stop to see one of the world’s greatest man-made structures, the Hoover Dam. Continue through Kingman and Williams on your way to the fantastic Grand Canyon.

Day 13 > Grand Canyon National Park–Phoenix / Scottsdale
After exploring the Grand Canyon this morning, drive south through Oak Creek Canyon. Then visit the scenic red rock town of Sedona before reaching Montezuma’s Castle. Continue on to your last night in Phoenix.
