Boston was one of the first areas of America to be settled and thus is steeped in history but it is also home to numerous colleges and universities so it beats with a youthful heart.

There are tonnes of attractions to be enjoyed in this surprisingly compressed city but one of the main ones is Boston Common, which holds the distinction of being the oldest park in the country. It is also the starting point for one of the most popular activities in the city, the Freedom Trail walking tour.

Boston is also the home of many wonderful galleries, stunning architecture and fascinating museums.

And a short hop down the East Coast lies the always-inviting New York. From the Rockefeller Center to Central Park, the Statue of Liberty to Staten Island and everything in between, New York has an endless list of things to see and do.

Everybody has their favourite New York movie or TV moment and a visit here lets you experience it for yourself first-hand. It is also a place full of hidden surprises so get out and explore and see what it has in store for you.

Staff Review

“Taking the train is a nice, very pleasant alternative to flying to/from Boston to New York City. Particularly if you're traveling from city center to city center, it wins hands down on convenience, it's nice to have the extra space and to enjoy the "countryside" scenery and coastal views no matter the New England season. Both are great City stops that provide something unique for your holiday!”

New York City
  • On the weekends, Central Park closes to traffic and becomes a huge open-air running (and biking and inline skating) track. Enjoy the prime people-watching as you exercise, or opt for other scenic paths along Riverside Park on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
  • Enjoy a heavenly cupcake from Magnolia Bakery, made famous by ‘Sex in the City’. You won’t stomach more than one.
