The hotel restaurant, paradoxically called Hudson Cafeteria, has a mixture of the standard tables you would expect in a restaurant, plus an interesting layout of long, communal tables.
The interior design incorporates bare-brick walls.
The food that is on offer is wide and varied.
The menu spans from Steak Frites to macaroni cheese.
And there is a terrace available and you can eat al fresco when there is good weather.
Also, the Hudson Bar is a stylish drinking establishment filled with trendy people. You will be lit from underneath as it has a glowing green floor, but look up to see Francesco Clemente's hand-painted ceiling mural.
Recreation:
While staying at the Hudson you won't even have to leave the hotel to take an enjoyable stroll through a park.
The Private Park forms part of the elevated lobby.
Look up to the top of the 45-foot trees and notice the earthy feel as the walls are covered with creeping ivy.
Not all the garden furniture in the Private Park is antique, but when you find a piece that is it is worth stopping to have a look.
It can feel like you are away from the bustling streets of New York as you walk through the isolated park.
The hotel has a fitness centre, compact and in the basement where you can get a cardio workout or take time to use the weights.
