What to Expect:

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort has been designed to evoke a sense of living in the days of Mark Twain and the riverboats on the Mississippi. The resort has been tastefully created complete with a huge paddlewheel outside the Boatwright’s Dining Hall. Guests can stroll down shaded paths to reach any one of six swimming pools, each with their own unique features. The resort is home to more than 2,000 rooms split between the rustic charm of the country Alligator Bayou area and the stately refinement of Magnolia Bend with its Mansion. Please note that this hotel is non smoking except in designated outdoor areas.


Amenity Highlights:
A great swimming pool to explore in the resort is the Old-time water hole located on Ol’Man Island. The pool has a water slide for the kids to enjoy and a spa close by so the adults can relax. Bikes and boats can be rented at the Riverside Levee, and guests can experience the joys of fishing with cane poles at the well stocked Fishin’ Hole. For a romantic evening experience guests can catch a Horse-drawn carriage to their rooms. Guests staying in Walt Disney World® Resort Hotels can enjoy an extra hour of fun at the park and avoid the crowds with the Extra Magic Hours program which allows early entry on selected days.

Property/Local Amenities:
The resort has a Mississippi-style waterway and gives off the feel of stepping back in time down South. The fun begins as soon as you step into the reception area, which has the look and feel of an old style steamboat. There are six swimming pools in total, as well as a children’s play area, an arcade and numerous dinning options. A general store sells food and sundries as well as Disney souvenirs. The resort also offers complimentary coach service throughout the Walt Disney World® complex and complimentary water launch service to the Downtown Disney® Area.
Guests staying at this resort are eligible for complimentary Disney's Magical Express service, so you don’t need to worry about arranging transfers and can start enjoying your holiday sooner. Coaches pick up guests at Orlando International Airport and drop off at Walt Disney World® Resort Hotels. Disney staff members pick up your bags and deliver them straight to guestrooms (for arrivals between 5 AM and 10 PM only), making your holiday easy and stress free right from the start. Guests arriving outside of these hours should pick up their baggage at baggage claim to carry with them on the coach.


Rooms:
Disney's Port Orleans Resort is home to more than 2000 guestrooms all centred around the Sassagoula River and its waterways. The resort has been tastefully decorated to give the feel of the old south and rooms fall into two themed areas dependant on their location. Magnolia Bend offers stately accommodation in a three storey mansion whose wings spread along the waterways. In the Alligator Bayou section there are comfortable country style lodges. All rooms are well equipped with TV’s, refrigerators and safety deposit boxes. Most rooms come with great views over the courtyard, rover or landscaped gardens. Please note that all guestrooms (including room patios and balconies) are non-smoking.


Dining:
The resort offers five main dinning options, so there is something to suit everyone’s tastes. The Boatwright Dining Hall has a nautical theme with giant boats hanging overhead in this restored warehouse. There are great views out over the Sassagoula River and a good selection of family favourites on the menu including steaks, prime ribs and southern specialties.
The Riverside Mill offers a food court style of dinner, where the several different stands offer a good range of typical American fare. Open only in the evenings the River Roost lounge bar has a great fireplace and serves snacks and refreshments. Guests are able to dine in the comfort of their own room by ordering from the Sassagoula Pizza Express which delivers fresh pizza from late afternoon to midnight. There is also the option of eating close to the pool at the Muddy Rivers Pool Bar which is open from late morning until dusk.


Recreation:
For those who love the water the resorts six pools will provide hours of entertainment and the Disney Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is located just two miles away. Golfers should head to guest services where you will be assisted with reservations at any one of Disney’s five tour-calibre golf courses.
