We had a great time in New York, and with the hop on hop off we were able to get a flavor of everything!
Perfect way to see some of the sights you would otherwise miss - Chinatown, Little Italy etc and to receive interesting information from the tour guide. Better than having the individual headsets that many Hop-on Hop-off tours have as guide is able to answer questions and advise in a more personal way.
Especially if you have limited time in NY, do this tour. It takes you everywhere you need to go and basically takes you around the whole of New York. The nice thing was we were there 3 days, so we would get taken to where we wanted to go, then sometimes walk to the nxt few attractions the bus stops at and then get back on another touring bus later that day. It really does show you all you need to see, in limited time. We thought it was brilliant
The best and most convenient way to get around Manhattan and see a glimpse of Brooklyn.
We used this pass for 72 hours, got us from Uptown, Times Square, Lower East Side and to Battery Park.
Be wary of how many times you hop on and off though, because you're almost obligated to tip the driver at every stop you make. They emphasise this almost every ten minutes to tip them. This is the only city that seems to emphasise the tipping, because we also did the hop on hop off bus tours in Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles - all which were a little more discreet about it.
This is the best way to tour NY city. Love It!!!!...
Great way to see NYC, hop on and off very useful.
We love the hop-on hop-off bus. We have done it more than once, visiting all aspects of New York, and finding the spots we want to return to. I recommend all first timers do this tour. Informative and fun, and shows you the places you want to go. Love this tour!
As first time visitors to NYC, we found the HOHO buses to be a great way to see the city! Since we were only in NYC for 3 days, we purchased a 48 hour pass. This allowed us to get a great overview of the city, and we had plenty of time to do both the uptown and downtown loops in their entirety as well as the nighttime city tour which also takes you into parts of Brooklyn as well. We also used the buses a couple of times on the second day for transportation to various parts of the city. Overall, we found the buses to be easy to use and we never had to wait very long to get one as they seemed to be running frequently enough to keep the good sized holiday week crowd moving. Most of the buses we rode were filled to near-capacity each time that we used them. The various tour guides we had were all very entertaining and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend the HOHO buses if you are looking to be able to see a lot of the city in a short amount of time, and particularly get a "lay of the land" before setting out on your own. If you are using them for basic transportation, they do go to most of the popular tourist destinations, but you definitely need to have adequate time in your schedule as it may take you up to an hour or two to get to your desired destination since the buses follow specific routes. Also be aware that some of the buses do one-way runs, so if you want to do for instance, the whole downtown loop, you may have to get off at Battery Park and catch another bus to continue!
Highly recommend this trip its worth every penny, a fantastic way to explore the city and all it has to offer.
A nice relaxing way to explore the City and sites
