After crossing the impressive Golden Gate Bridge, you'll stop for a view of San Francisco from Vista Point before driving through the coastal mountains to Muir Woods. This national monument is the site of a virgin forest of California Coast redwood trees, among the oldest and tallest on earth. Take the opportunity to roam through an ancient forest of giant redwood trees on your 75-minute visit of Muir Woods.
This morning or afternoon tour also takes you to Sausalito, a quaint Mediterranean-style seaside village. Stroll along the waterfront, shop or take photos in this picturesque artists' colony nestled on the northern shores of San Francisco Bay.

This trip could not get any better. The driver Brian was informative and entertaining without being over the top. Just an all around fun day.
Muir Woods is beautiful, breathtaking and really fills you with awe. The tour was well run, on time and really informative. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and lots of fun, making for a great trip to the park and Sausalito. A longer stay in the woods would be welcome, but the short in the park was definitely a highlight. This is highly recommended. Also, the option of staying in Sausalito was fantastic. Well worth the extra time to explore, shop, eat and head back to the City via the Golden Gate Bridge.
This is a top notch tour! The beauty of those huge redwoods is unbelievable and the time allotted to tour the woods seemed to be just right. From there we traveled to Sausalito and even though the stay there was a little rushed, you could stay around longer and ride the ferry back or possibly return on another day if you wanted to. We had to have the best guide. He shared a lot of info with us as we traveled and even stopped by the Golden Gate Bridge for picture taking before returning to San Francisco. We would recommend this tour to anyone and don't think you'll be disappointed!
This was a wonderful trip with a wonderful driver, Ken, who was kind, entertaining, and extremely personable. He gave much information about the Muir woods , as well as many other observations along the way.
The only complaint was the bus was rather small with not too much leg room.
75 minutes in the Muir Woods was just the right amount of time.
Excellent tour, great guide - Troy. Troy was humourous, very informative and was very patient with some passengers when they were late back. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. He gave useful/appropriate information at each stop which helped to make best use of our time. .
OK
Our trip out to Muir Woods started out in a misty rain, but this didn't deter our friendly driver. Since visibility was somewhat hampered, our driver took our group up to an area where we could get better photos of the Golden Gate Bridge. The road spiraled up the mountain, but our driver was very adept and was a wealth of information regarding the plant life and history of the areas preceding Muir Woods. The hour plus self tour of Muir Woods was more than adequate especially with the heavy mist. It is absolutely a must see for any tourist or CA resident. The tour includes transportation to Sausalito for an hour stay before departing. I had made reservations at "Spinnaker' restaurant months prior and decided to take the Ferry back instead of rejoining the group tour bus home. This proved to be a good idea since we were still finishing up dessert when the bus was leaving. We had time to tour the cute town of Sausalito and take the 3:30 PM Ferry back to Pier 41. The shops in Sausalito are your typical tourist traps, but one store, Kokopelli, had lovely jewelry and amazing multicolored clay figures.
Don't miss this trip, but stay in Sausalito, forgo the van back, and take the ferry back to the pier.
This tour was excellent. It was almost like a mystical experience inside that forest. Sausalito was fun as well, plenty of places to sit near the water and just people watch.
Awesome tour! We had the best tour guide ever (John) who was so knowledgeable and even made surprise stops for great views.
What a great 4-hour side trip to enhance our visit to San Francisco. Our driver was excellent and knowledgeable. We had a great time! Thank you!
